Steve Stricker is looking to cap off a "great" year by witnessing success in the Chevron World Challenge, which begins today (December 3rd).
Alongside the three victories he has achieved in 2009, Stricker has retained a remarkable consistency by finishing in the top ten in a further eight of the 22 golf tournaments he has participated in.
With Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson missing from the California event, the world number three finds himself as the highest-ranked player taking part.
However, he has highlighted that this will put him under no excess pressure as he bids to build on his successes in the Crowne Plaza Invitational, John Deere Classic and Deutsche Bank Championship this season.
He said: "I just tend to go about my business and try to do what I need to do and try to keep improving on what I've been working on over the last four, five, six years.
"This is always a great event to be a part of and the course is in great shape. I'm excited to be here and very happy with the way I have played this last year."
Stricker is an 8/1 chance to win the Chevron World Challenge, with Lee Westwood considered the slight favourite to land the golf tournament at 13/2.
