Anthony Kim is looking to gain the rewards of taking on a new work ethic when teeing up at the Chevron World Challenge today (December 3rd).
The 24-year-old's dedication to golf has been called into question at times in the past as he has seemed equally at home enjoying a party-boy lifestyle.
However, Kim feels that he has now matured and has changed his entire approach to golf in a bid to fulfil his undoubted potential and win more tournaments.
He said: "I really feel a big difference in the way I feel when I come to a golf course or when I do wake up every morning. I have a purpose and I haven't had that since I turned professional.
"I think I got tired of people beating me and finishing 20th and going to dinner with my parents after a 74, and that left a real bitter taste in my mouth. But for the first time I can say that I want to win golf tournaments and that's my priority."
The world number 21 picked up his first victory of the year recently in New Zealand in the four-man Kiwi Challenge and although a small event, he admits it has given him a confidence boost.
Kim defeated Sean O'Hair, Hunter Mahan and Camilo Villegas to win the golf tournament and build on his second-place finish in the same event in 2008.
